Green GSM has introduced an electric vehicle rental program in the Philippines that allows transport network vehicle service (TNVS) drivers to use VinFast cars for daily operations, with a possible path to ownership after five years.

Called CarBiz, the program offers an initial payment of as low as P5,000 and daily rental rates starting at P1,040. It targets experienced TNVS drivers who want to switch to electric vehicles and licensed drivers who do not own a car.

During the week of 6 to 12 October 2026, gasoline prices rose by as much as P1.93 per liter, according to figures cited by Green GSM from the Department of Energy. Metro Manila pump prices ranged from approximately P89 to P100 per liter.

Green GSM believes electric vehicles can help reduce these expenses, although the purchase price of a new EV and access to charging facilities remain concerns among drivers.

Under CarBiz, participants can choose among three VinFast models. The VF 5 and Herio Green are five-seater vehicles intended for regular passenger trips, while the seven-seater Limo Green caters to those who need additional passenger space.

According to the company, the vehicles could offer estimated costs up to 30 percent lower than comparable gasoline-powered models over five years, based on monthly travel of 3,000 kilometers.

Apart from providing vehicles, the program follows what Green GSM calls its “5 Ready” commitment, which covers vehicle availability, access to charging, passenger bookings, driver assistance and potential earnings.

Participants can receive passenger bookings through the Green GSM ride-hailing platform and use the V-Green charging network. The company also offers free charging until 31 March 2029, subject to its terms and conditions.

Green GSM says drivers may receive a revenue-sharing rate of up to 90 percent, with potential monthly earnings of up to P90,000. These figures depend on individual operating performance and applicable program conditions and are not guaranteed.

Drivers also receive assistance with registration requirements, permits and insurance documentation. Training is provided to help new participants become familiar with the vehicles and the company’s ride-hailing operations.

One of the program’s main provisions is the possibility of eventually owning the rented vehicle after five years, subject to the applicable ownership policy.
