CEBU — Cebu just got a whole new perspective — literally. Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco officially launched the first-ever Tuburan-Bantayan-Mactan Sky Tour on Friday, giving travelers a bird’s-eye view of the island province like never before.
“This launch will really boost tourism, especially in Northern Cebu,” Frasco told reporters. “Even with past disasters, Cebu is ready to rise again in all its tourism endeavors.”
The ambitious project, operated by Tuburan 360, will use at least four helicopters to ferry visitors between Mactan, Tuburan, and Bantayan Island — and back again.
“This is a pioneering experience that lets travelers see Cebu’s iconic attractions from above,” said former Tuburan Mayor and project operator Democrito “Aljun” Diamante Jr. “It also positions the province as a new gateway for tourism, commerce and leisure in Cebu and nearby islands.”
Ako Bisaya Representative Sonny Lagon, who owns Skyline Air Company providing the helicopters, added that the takeoff point will be Tambuli Beach Resort in Barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City — also his own property.
Diamante expressed confidence that the Sky Tour will flourish, offering both locals and tourists a fresh way to experience Cebu from the sky.
