The passport of former Ako Bicol Party‑list Rep. Zaldy Co — a fugitive in the controversial flood‑control corruption scandal — has now been cancelled, according to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

In a video statement, Marcos said embassies abroad have been notified to monitor Co, preventing the former congressman from hiding overseas.

Co, who resigned amid allegations over irregularities, is believed to be abroad — possibly in Portugal — though his exact whereabouts remain unknown.

In a related update, contractor Sarah Discaya has surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and is now in custody pending the formal arrest warrant.

These developments mark a significant shift after earlier uncertainty — including statements from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) that a court order was needed before cancellation — raising hopes the flood‑control scandal investigation may finally yield accountability
