A gun runner was arrested during a buy-bust operation at Barangay Tala in the Town of Orani, Bataan on 6 December 2025.
According to the Bataan Police Provincial Office (BPPO), a 57-year-old farmer reportedly involved in gun-running activities was arrested by the personnel of the Orani Municipal Police Station.
The report stated that police operatives acted as the poseur-buyer and successfully purchased one caliber .38 revolver bearing serial number 75133 (ARMSCOR 202) along with six live rounds of ammunition in exchange for P4,000 in marked money.
The suspect failed to present any legal documents for the firearm during the operation. He is now under the custody of the Orani Municipal Police Station, and charges for violation of R.A. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) will be filed against him.
Bataan Provincial Director Police Col. Marites A Salvadora has directed all police stations to intensify operations against loose firearms, emphasizing that such efforts aim to protect communities from the dangers posed by unregistered and illegally possessed firearms. She reiterated that the Bataan Police will continue to track down gun runners and individuals handling loose firearms to arrest them and further eliminate illegal firearms circulating in the province.
