Nueva Ecija police arrest robbery, homicide suspect

The Nueva Ecija police arrested one of the suspects involved in a robbery with homicide case during a hot pursuit operation in the town of Talugtug, Nueva Ecija, on 26 November 2025.

According to a report to Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) Provincial Director Police Col. Heryl Bruno, a shooting incident occurred at the Irrigation Bridge, Brgy. Sta. Catalina of the said town on November 25, 2025.

Responding police found the victim, a 52-year-old farmer, severely wounded. He was immediately rushed to the hospital but was later declared dead.

Witnesses stated that two male individuals fled the scene on a motorcycle, carrying the victim’s sling bag containing his mobile phone and cash.

Based on investigation and witness statements, the suspects were identified as three adult males, residents of Brgy. San Anton, Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, aged 21 to 39.

Personnel of the Talugtug Municipal Police Station immediately conducted hot pursuit and follow-up operations, resulting in the arrest of a 39-year-old male suspect from Brgy. San Anton at 11:40 PM on November 26, 2025.

A criminal complaint for robbery with homicide is now being prepared against the arrested suspect, while intensified operations continue to apprehend the two remaining at-large suspects.
