BAGUIO CITY — Two men were found dead in the early hours of 15 November at Hilltop Village, Purok 6, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

According to the Tabuk City Police, the victims were identified as Davyn Basangal Balinte of Pinukpok, Kalinga, and a man known only as “David,” a resident of Bulanao. Both were believed to have been killed during an armed robbery at around 2:30 a.m.

Police officers arrived at the scene at around 4:35 a.m. and discovered that one victim had been shot in the head and the other in the chest. Both were declared dead on the spot Two brothers, who reportedly witnessed the incident, said they had just returned home after drinking when two unidentified men on a motorcycle approached them at gunpoint. The suspects, who wore bonnets, full-face masks, and caps, took three cellphones and P4,000 in cash from the brothers.

When the two victims failed to hand over any belongings, one of the suspects allegedly shot them, killing them instantly.

Scene of the Crime Operatives are processing the area, while the Kalinga Provincial Police Office said efforts are underway to identify and arrest the perpetrators. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby establishments and deploying intelligence operatives to monitor previously arrested individuals in similar robbery cases who are currently out on bail.
