Four Chinese nationals were arrested in separate operations in Burgos, Ilocos Norte, for alleged violations of Philippine immigration laws, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said Friday.
The first operation, conducted on 6 November, led to the arrest of 43-year-old Jiang Zhengwei and 41-year-old Chen Zhengji at a restaurant in Barangay Bayog.
According to the BI, both men were found working for companies other than their registered petitioning employer and had failed to report a change of residence — a violation of the terms of their stay.
In a separate operation in Barangay Poblacion, operatives also arrested Li Shihan, 45, and Long Litao, 33. BI said the two were employed by a company in Ilocos Norte despite holding visas that petitioned them to work in Taguig City.
All four arrested foreign nationals have been transferred to the BI Warden Facility in Bicutan while documentation and verification procedures are ongoing.
