The Philippine National Police (PNP) has assured the public of full security coverage for the upcoming three-day religious rally at Rizal Park, scheduled for November 16 to 18, which is expected to draw around 300,000 participants.
PNP Chief P/LtGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. confirmed that preparations are already underway in coordination with the Manila City Government, event organizers, religious leaders, and other relevant agencies to finalize security and traffic arrangements.
A total of 9,829 police personnel from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will be deployed to maintain peace and order during the event. The deployment will include civil disturbance management teams, traffic enforcement units, K9 squads, medical support, and quick reaction forces on standby.
“We welcome this large-scale religious gathering, and we are one with the organizers in ensuring that it becomes a peaceful and meaningful event. Our police officers will be there not to interfere, but to protect, to make sure that everyone who comes in faith also goes home safe,” Nartatez said.
Meanwhile, the PNP encouraged participants to cooperate with security protocols, noting that small actions such as complying with checks, avoiding prohibited items, and looking out for one another will help ensure safety.
The police also warned the public to anticipate road adjustments and heavy pedestrian traffic around Rizal Park.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes once traffic advisories are issued.
The PNP confirmed that it will elevate its alert status to maximize personnel availability and rapid response capability during the three-day event.
