President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday extended separate greetings to the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) as the religious organization marked its 112th anniversary.
Marcos praised the INC’s contributions to faith, service and nation-building, describing it as “a steadfast guide to a community grounded in faith, discipline, and a shared sense of responsibility.”
He urged INC members to remain partners in nation-building and reaffirmed the government’s support for organizations that strengthen families and promote peace.
In a separate message, Duterte hailed the INC as a “pillar of faith and unity,” citing its contributions to education, livelihood programs and disaster response.
She also prayed for the church’s continued growth under executive minister Eduardo V. Manalo and expressed hope it would remain a partner of government in national development.
The INC endorsed the UniTeam tandem of Marcos and Duterte in the 2022 elections.
In January 2025, it also held a nationwide rally calling for unity amid political tensions between the Marcos and Duterte camps.
