Emphasis Salon gives back through ISHAir Your Hair

Aside from giving back to society, Emphasis Salon holds a deeper reason for accepting the offer to be the official haircutter for ISHAir Your Hair: A Hair Donation Drive for the cancer patients of Rizal Medical Center.

“My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She struggled for about two years, and then she died,” the salon’s operations manager, Mylene Cantos, recalled.

The hair donation drive, held in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, aims to provide wigs to cancer patients who are losing their hair due to chemotherapy.

“When this project was mentioned to me, I immediately said yes. I never had second thoughts about doing this project for the betterment of cancer patients,” she added.

The salon, located in Rockwell, Makati City, is set to celebrate its silver anniversary this December.

Cantos added that charity events have become a vital part of their business, as the ordeal faced by relatives of cancer patients deeply resonated with her.

“For the past 24 years, we have consistently supported this cause by volunteering our time and the skills of our staff to provide free haircuts to our partner foundations,” she continued.
