Muntinlupa bags Gawad Kalasag award anew

The local government of Muntinlupa has been recognized as a Gawad Kalasag Beyond Compliant Awardee for the third consecutive year, a distinction given for excellence in disaster preparedness.

Mayor Ruffy Biazon confirmed that the city received the honor from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council for its disaster risk reduction and management programs in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

The mayor stated that Muntinlupa surpassed the standards set under Republic Act 10121, known as the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Law.

The city continues to strengthen its capacity to respond to disasters through the acquisition of new equipment, the stockpiling of relief goods, and investments in the training of emergency responders and personnel.

The local government has also expanded its efforts in community awareness and disaster preparedness seminars.
