Actress, singer and former beauty queen Ma. Isabella “Lala” David Vinzon is facing a series of criminal complaints filed by her former live-in partner, Atty. Mark Tolentino, before the Mandaluyong City Prosecutor’s Office.
According to a report from Bilyonaryo News Channel aired on Sunday, 12 October, Tolentino lodged multiple charges against Vinzon, including perjury, falsification of public documents, obstruction of justice, oral defamation and unjust vexation.
Alleged incident, complaints
The complaints stem from an alleged altercation that occurred inside Tolentino’s vehicle following an incident at a government office in August 2025. The lawyer claimed that Vinzon verbally berated him during the encounter, which later escalated into a public scene.
Witnesses — reportedly Tolentino’s driver, secretary and household staff — were cited in the complaint. They claimed that the lawyer remained calm during the confrontation while Vinzon allegedly shouted at and struck him.
Each of the complaints carries specific legal implications under Philippine law:
•Perjury pertains to making false statements under oath or providing untruthful declarations in official proceedings.
•Falsification of public documents involves tampering with or fabricating official records.
•Obstruction of justice refers to any act that hinders or interferes with legal investigations or judicial processes.
•Oral defamation involves the utterance of words that could damage another person’s reputation.
•Unjust vexation covers deliberate acts of harassment, irritation, or disturbance without lawful justification.
Public reaction, silence from Vinzon
As of this writing, Lala Vinzon has yet to issue an official statement addressing the allegations. Her X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram accounts have both been deactivated amid the controversy.
The issue has drawn significant attention online, given Vinzon’s showbiz lineage — she is the daughter of action star and former politician Roy Vinzon — and her past visibility as a singer-actress known for her stint on The Voice Teens Philippines and for representing the country in various beauty pageants.
