  • The Quezon City Regional Trial Court has issued an arrest warrant against lawyer Mark Kristopher Tolentino for allegedly violating Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.

QC RTC Branch 229 Judge Cleto R. Villacorta III found probable cause based on a complaint filed by actress, singer and former beauty queen Ma. Isabella “Lala” David Vinzon, Tolentino’s former partner.

Tolentino, who has been reported as legal counsel of detained Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Apollo Quiboloy and a supporter of former President Rodrigo Duterte, immediately posted bail following his arraignment, according to court personnel.

Vinzon’s lawyer, Ryan Lopez, said she ended the relationship after suffering severe emotional and psychological distress. He said the complaint was filed under Section 5(i) of Republic Act 9262.

Lopez also alleged that Tolentino later filed multiple cases against Vinzon, including perjury, falsification of public documents, obstruction of justice, oral defamation and unjust vexation. The accusations and a purported arrest warrant, which Lopez said was not genuine, were circulated online.
