Immigration authorities have arrested two foreign nationals in separate intelligence operations in Cavite and Cebu City, the Bureau of Immigration said Friday.
The first suspect identified as 39-year-old Baljit Singh Doel, an Indian national, was nabbed in Diamond Biclatan, Holiday Homes in General Trias, Cavite on 3 October.
BI Intelligence Division Chief Fortunato Manahan Jr, said Doel was found undocumented and had been overstaying in the country. He also had no recorded arrival in the country.
Meanwhile, 40-year-old Chinese national Jianshan Xu was arrested on 7 October at a store in Ermita, Cebu City, in a joint operation by BI, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the Carbon Police Station.
BI said Xu was allegedly working as a store attendant even though he was holding an ACR Identity Card under a different employer. BI said on Friday that Xu is working in a textile shop in the area.
Authorities also said that he falsely identified himself as a Filipino citizen in his driver’s license.
Both foreign nationals are facing deportation proceedings and will be included in the agency’s blacklist after deportation.
