Measures to support the growing aviation sector were discussed by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) during the Air Operators’ Summit on Thursday.

The summit, attended by representatives from 39 air operators nationwide focused on aligning industry priorities, addressing operational challenges, and ensuring safety standards.

According to the Airport Council International (ACI) World Traffic Forecast 2023-2027, the Philippines is projected to have a compound annual passenger growth rate of 13.8 percent, ranking third globally among countries with 25 to 100 million passengers. 

The summit also emphasized preparations for the International Civil Aviation Organization audit in 2026. CAAP urges operators to comply with safety protocols, operational requirements, and documentation standards. 

CAAP Director General Lt. Gen. Raul del Rosario said the authority is taking steps to prepare the industry for future growth.

In April, CAAP held a summit for Approved Training Organizations and Approved Maintenance Organizations to strengthen transparency and collaboration in regulatory processes.
