The King's Gallery at Buckingham Palace will host an exhibition showcasing the wardrobe of the late Queen Elizabeth II in celebration of what would have been her 100th birthday. The exhibit honors the legacy of Britain’s longest-reigning monarch.

Titled “Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style,” the exhibition will be the largest display of the Queen’s clothing to date, featuring over 200 dresses — including the iconic gown from her royal wedding to Prince Philip. The event will run from spring to autumn next year.

Renowned for her signature style — vibrant coats, elegant hats, and coordinated accessories—the Queen’s fashion was both regal and practical, designed to make her stand out in any crowd. The exhibition will trace her sartorial journey from childhood to her final years.

Among the highlights is a dress designed by Edward Molyneux, worn by the then eight-year-old Princess Elizabeth at the 1934 wedding of her uncle, the Duke of Kent, to Princess Marina of Greece. Also featured are creations by Norman Hartnell, her principal designer during the 1940s and 1950s, including her 1947 wedding dress and the 1953 Coronation gown.

Caroline de Guitaut, Surveyor of The King’s Works of Art and curator of the exhibit, emphasized the Queen's enduring fashion legacy.

“Over the course of Queen Elizabeth II’s remarkably long reign, her distinctive style became instantly recognizable around the world, bolstering the British fashion industry and influencing generations of designers and couturiers,” she said.

While an official opening date has not yet been announced, the Royal Collection said the tickets will be available in November this year.
