Fifty years of denim heritage just got a major lifestyle refresh.
Celebrating a half-century at the heart of local street culture, JAG is stepping into a brand-new era—and bringing ultimate style chameleon Nadine Lustre along for the ride. Unveiled during Manila Fashion Week, this match made in fashion heaven bridges retro nostalgia with the way we actually dress today.
Here is how the iconic brand is flipping the script for its golden anniversary:
1. Ultimate Cool-Girl Muse
Stepping in as the new face of the brand, Nadine Lustre brings her effortless, trend-setting energy to the heritage label. It’s a natural partnership that bridges five decades of denim legacy directly into the wardrobes of a new generation.
2. Runway Drama Meets Street Style
To kick off the celebration, the JAG design team debuted 10 custom, avant-garde denim looks on the runway. Featuring exaggerated silhouettes, sculptural tailoring, and unexpected treatments, the presentation proved that everyday denim can easily double as high-fashion art.
3. A '90s Archive Flashback In a clever nod to its roots, the show flipped one of JAG’s most memorable '90s campaigns—the iconic "Merman"—into a sleek, contemporary "Mermaid" concept, with Nadine taking center stage as the modern protagonist.
4. Five Cuts Upgraded for Daily Wear
At the center of the launch is Denim Gold, a celebratory lineup built around five essential silhouettes: the Skinny, Straight Cut, trending Barrel, Ultra Flare, and Ultra Wide. Each pair is reworked with updated proportions and subtle gold hardware designed for seamless daily rotation.
"What I like about JAG is that it has such a strong identity and so much history, but it isn’t afraid to evolve," shares Nadine Lustre. "I think that’s what makes this partnership exciting for me, we’re both at a point where we’re exploring what comes next while still staying true to who we are. I’m excited to bring my own perspective into that and to be part of how JAG continues to grow. This feels less like one campaign and more like the beginning of a new chapter."
5. A Year-Long Fashion Evolution This runway reveal is just the opening act. JAG is rolling out new product drops, creative collaborations, and interactive consumer experiences all year long, building up to a major 50th-anniversary celebration this November.
"As we celebrate 50 years, our priority is really to build on the equity JAG has earned and make it even stronger for the next generation," says Donnie Manaloto, Marketing Director of JAG Group. "We have an incredible heritage in denim, but heritage only matters if you continue to make it relevant. That means elevating the product, the way we communicate, the experiences we create and how the brand participates in culture. Nadine is an important part of that direction, but she’s also one piece of a much bigger evolution happening across JAG. We want people to see the brand again with fresh eyes."
