CANDABA, Pampanga — A total of 917 farmers from this province received free duck feeds from the Department of Agriculture (DA) as part of efforts to strengthen Pampanga’s duck industry.
The distribution took place on 9 July 2025 in Barangay Bahay Pari, led by DA Undersecretary for Livestock Constante J. Palabrica with the assistance of local officials.
DA Regional Executive Director Eduardo L. Lapuz Jr. and Pampanga 4th District Representative Anna York P. Bondoc also attended the event and assisted in distributing the feeds to beneficiaries from Candaba, San Luis, Apalit, and San Simon.
According to the DA, the 12,275 bags of feed distributed were valued at P24.5 million. All beneficiaries are registered in the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) and presented vouchers to claim their allocations. This requirement ensures that the assistance reaches actual poultry raisers.
The initiative aims to support the continued development of Pampanga’s duck industry, which remains a key contributor to local agriculture.
Based on Philippine Statistics Authority data, Pampanga led all provinces in duck and duck-based product output in 2023, producing 2,560 metric tonnes.
