Construction giant EEI Corp. has secured a P15.75-billion contract from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to design and build the Philippine International Exhibition Center (PIEC) in Pasay Harbor City.
In a stock exchange report on Monday, the Yuchengco-led company confirmed that it received the Notice of Award for Phase 1 of the flagship project on 4 July, which is envisioned as a premier venue for global exhibitions and conventions to boost trade and economic activity in the region.
The PIEC is a flagship infrastructure project of the Department of Public Works and Highways located in Pasay Harbor City, a joint venture between the Pasay City government and Davao-based firms Udenna Corp. and Ulticon Builders.
The project is originally planned to be divided into two packages: Package 1, which covers design, engineering, and structural works from 2024 to 2025, including consulting services, while Package 2 will cover the remaining civil works from 2026 to 2027.
