Nominations are now open for the 3rd Philippine Resilience Awards (PRA), which honors individuals who demonstrate exemplary commitment to advancing climate action and building resilience against disasters.

With the theme “Kabataan at Kababaihan: Katuwang sa Paghahabi ng Isang Matatag na Bayan,” this year’s PRA highlights the vital role of youth and women in strengthening community resilience and driving sustainable development. It underscores how their leadership, innovation and advocacy contribute to a more climate-smart and disaster-prepared Philippines.

“We must scale up our efforts, recognizing that these climate advocates are essential. We need to empower them and honor the work they do,” said Senator Loren Legarda, the pioneer behind the PRA. “They are the changemakers and innovators who will lead our country in preparing for and responding to climate-related disasters.”

Eligible applicants must be nominated by an organization or individual — self-nominations will not be accepted. The call is open exclusively to women and youth — or those 15 to 30 years old as of nomination — who lead efforts in sustainability and climate-related disaster preparedness.

Nominees must demonstrate meaningful impact and influence within their communities, driving action and inspiring change in the face of climate challenges.

The Philippine Resilience Awards is an initiative of the Office of Senator Loren Legarda, in collaboration with the Climate Change Commission, the Philippine Commission on Women, National Resilience Council, SM Prime, ARISE Philippines and the Women’s International Network on Disaster Risk Reduction-Philippines.
