Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo convened newly elected and reelected House members of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) on Tuesday to foster unity and align support for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s legislative agenda.
The meeting, held at North Solaire in Quezon City, brought together party leaders and approximately 22 of the 28 PFP lawmakers who won in the 12 May midterm elections.
PFP president Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr., secretary general Governor Rodito Albano and executive director Florida Robes led the party delegation.
Tamayo stressed the importance of a unified PFP bloc in Congress, stating that solidarity is crucial for advancing the administration's priority measures.
Albano, on the other hand, encouraged PFP lawmakers to strategically select committee assignments that align with their expertise and experience, enabling them to contribute more effectively to the legislative process.
Meantime, Robes pledged support for a smooth transition for incoming House members, assuring them of the party’s full guidance.
Navotas Representative Toby Tiangco also attended the meeting and offered his support to the PFP lawmakers, promising assistance in legislative work and organizational coordination.
The event signaled a renewed commitment among PFP members to work cohesively and responsibly in championing the Marcos administration's policy initiatives in the 20th Congress.
