BAGUIO CITY — A pocket miner had to pay a fine after damaging property at a restaurant in Baguio City.
The miner, whose name was not disclosed, paid P2,500 to avoid jail time. The damage involved a sensor on a urinal inside a restaurant located at a city terminal.
According to reports, the miner went to use the restaurant’s comfort room. While there, he noticed a red light on the urinal and, suspicious it was a hidden CCTV camera spying on him, he pulled off the sensor.
He then brought the device to the restaurant’s security guard, believing it was some sort of monitoring equipment. The guard explained that it was actually an automatic flushing sensor.
The restaurant management initially asked the miner to pay P3,000 for the damage, but after some bargaining, they agreed on a payment of P2,500.
