The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced Thursday the suspension of the expanded number coding scheme on 12 May 2025, in observance of Election Day.

In an advisory, the MMDA urged the public to plan their trips ahead, drive safely, and comply with traffic regulations.

Malacañang Palace earlier declared Election Day a nationwide holiday to give Filipinos ample time to exercise their right to vote.

Proclamation No. 878, signed by President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on 6 May, formalized the holiday declaration. The move came following a request from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to ensure greater voter participation in Eleksyon 2025.
