BAGUIO CITY — A female senior citizen was declared dead-on-arrival at the hospital moments after an unidentified gunman shot her twice Wednesday morning in the capital town of Bangued, Abra.
The victim was identified as Nona Bigornia Castillo, female, 63 years old, married, unemployed and a resident of Barangay Bañacao, Bangued, Abra.
According to the Bangued Police, the victim has already been rushed to the hospital when they arrived at Sitio Calumbitin, Barangay San Antonio in Bangued where the shooting took place at about 11:15 a.m.
Based on the statement of Marife Castillo, she was driving a tricycle when she was flagged down by the victim. The victim asked her to give her a ride to Barangay Bañacao. Along the way, the suspect came from behind and shot the victim twice before fleeing to an unknown direction.
Castillo sustained gunshot wounds on her body. She was rushed to the Abra provincial hospital but later died in the said medical facility.
