Award-winning comedian, actor, and artist Michael V paid tribute to the late National Artist and Superstar Nora Aunor through a moving Facebook post, where he shared a hand-drawn sketch titled SUPERSTAR.
In his post, Michael V reflected on a conversation he once overheard in the 1990s. It came from another iconic figure, Rico J. Puno, who spoke about what it truly takes to earn the title of a superstar in the Philippine entertainment scene.
Puno described five accomplishments that define a true superstar:
Your TV show must be No. 1 in ratings.
Your movie must be a box office hit.
Your songs must be on radio station playlists.
Your concerts must be sold out.
Your theater or stage performances must earn glowing reviews.
Michael V, known for his wit and creativity, looked back on that list and offered his own reflection.
“That’s a tall order, isn’t it? Yet there’s only one person I know who achieved all of these—simultaneously—at one point in her career… and that’s Nora Aunor.”
He then posed a challenge to his followers, asking, “Is there anyone in this generation who can even come close to what she accomplished?”
His answer was firm: “I seriously doubt it.”
The tribute ended with a simple but powerful farewell.
“Rest in peace, Superstar.”
