CAMP TOLENTINO, Bataan — Ten persons were arrested on Good Friday after the police caught them in the act of engaging in illegal cockfighting in Barangay Saint Francis 2, this town.
Col. Marites A. Salvadora, Bataan police director, said that an intelligence-driven operation conducted by operatives of the Limay Municipal Police Station and the Bataan Provincial Intelligence Unit resulted in the arrest of 10 individuals engaging in illegal cockfighting at Purok 4, Barangay St. Francis 2, Limay, Bataan on 18 April.
According to the reports received by Col. Salvadora, confiscated from the suspects during the operation were two live fighting cocks, two dead fighting cocks, six pairs of gaffs, and bet money amounting to P2,500.
The arrested suspects are now in the custody of Limay police station for proper disposition, while coordination with the local government unit is underway for the issuance of citation tickets and corresponding fines.
