Residents of Baseco beat the heat by jumping off a barge moored at the seawall in Tondo, Manila, on the afternoon of 8 April 2025. The state weather bureau, PAGASA, recorded heat index values of 40 degrees Celsius or higher in 31 areas across the country, with 12 localities reaching danger level.
