Courier Bryan Serrano was recorded by stringer Mike Francisco on a mobile phone camera calling out the name of a consignee to claim a package in Barangay 375, Zone 38 on 22 July, GMA News reported.
The video showed Serrano looking upward as a child’s cries could be heard. Suddenly, he stepped forward and caught a child who fell into his open arms.
A crowd then gathered around Serrano and praised him for catching the unattended child, who apparently fell from a window, the video showed.

Meanwhile, in China, a couple searching for cicadas to cook fell into an unexpected predicament in Dongying, Shandong province, on 15 July.
People in the province enjoy eating deep-fried or barbecued cicadas, and local restaurants also use them in cakes and burgers, the South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported.
The wife failed to notice an open manhole in the community’s unlit greenbelt and accidentally fell in after slipping on the rain-soaked ground. Realizing that his wife was injured and unable to climb out, her husband descended five meters into the manhole to keep her company, according to SCMP.
From the damp, dark sewer, the couple used their mobile phones to call for help. Firefighters arrived and fitted the wife with a harness before pulling her to safety. They then lowered climbing equipment so the husband could get out of the hole.
The wife did not suffer serious injuries, rescuers said.
