Taeyeon sends shivers with every high note in Manila show

Taeyeon delivered a concert experience that was nothing short of breathtaking.

Returning to the Philippines for her sixth solo tour on 29 March, the K-pop vocal queen mesmerized SONEs at the SM Mall of Asia Arena with her unparalleled voice and stage presence during the Taeyeon Concert — The Tense in Manila.

Since her debut in 2007 as the primary vocalist and leader of the iconic K-pop group Girls’ Generation (SNSD), Taeyeon has captivated global audiences with her powerful, diverse voice. That night, she demonstrated why she is still regarded as an industry icon.  

True to its name, Tense, the concert was an intense and exhilarating spectacle — one of the best and most consistent live performances. The entire concert was a showcase of vocal prowess and emotional depth, leaving listeners in wonder. From beginning to end, chills ran down spines, and goosebumps were unavoidable. It’s no surprise that she got a well-deserved standing ovation.

Taeyeon kicked off the concert with “Fabulous,” instantly setting the vibe for a night to remember. She then took things back to where it all started with her debut solo track, “I,” which had fans deep in their feelings. The raw emotion in her voice hit hard, leaving many in the crowd teary-eyed.

Her setlist was a full-fledged nostalgia trip, featuring fan-favorite tunes like “Time Lapse,” “Curtain Call,” and “Make Me Love You.” But it was her jaw-dropping performances of “INVU” and “Four Seasons” that sent chills down everyone’s spine. Her vocals? Incredible. She proved once more why she is one of K-pop’s best. Her voice glided easily through each note, demonstrating why she is hailed as one of K-pop’s best vocalists.

The energy levels skyrocketed when she switched things up with bangers like “Why,” “Stress” and “Baram X.” As a special fan project, the crowd waved pink fabrics in sync with their glowing light sticks, transforming the venue into a breathtaking pink ocean.

Taeyeon poured her soul into emotional masterpieces like “Time Lapse” and “My Tragedy” before seamlessly delivering her newest songs, “Blur” and “Disaster.” Each note resonated deeply, touching the hearts of everyone in the crowd.

As the concert came to a finish, she played “Ending Credits,” a moment that seemed like both a love letter and a promise to her fans, an assurance that their journey with her would never actually end. To cap off the evening, she performed a breathtaking performance of “U R,” leaving the crowd in wonder, their hearts overflowing with adoration and gratitude.
