A riding-in-tandem in Caloocan City was arrested Saturday afternoon after evading a police verification.

Caloocan City Police Chief Edcille Canals said the suspects were riding a motorcycle along Bulacan Street in Barangay 67 when they were flagged down by officers for lacking a motorcycle plate and helmets.

The suspects were apprehended after their vehicle matched the description of one involved in a recent incident in nearby Barangay 9.

“This prompted them to flag down the suspects for verification but was disregarded and fled towards Barangay 67, Caloocan City while showing dirty finger,” the report said.

Upon stopping the suspects, officers requested their driver’s license to issue a traffic violation receipt, but the suspects failed to present it.

The suspects were identified as alias "Bryan," a 26-year-old construction worker from Malabon City, and alias "Rubilito," a 23-year-old dishwasher from Caloocan City.

A lawful search was conducted, during which officers recovered a .22 caliber revolver and a pistol replica. Additionally, two small heat-sealed plastic sachets containing a total of 12.3 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P83,640, were found.

The suspects are now in police custody and face charges for violation of Article 151 (Disobedience to a Person in Authority), Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), the Omnibus Election Code, and Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
