Andrea Brillantes has made a strong call for increased political awareness among young people, particularly those within Generation Z and Generation Alpha. In a recent interview with CCM Productions, the actress highlighted the crucial role that the youth play in shaping the nation’s future, stressing that understanding of current events is essential for informed decision-making.
During the interview, Brillantes was asked about the significance of young people staying updated on national issues. Her response underscored the positive influence of shows like Batang Quiapo, where she is currently starring.
She expressed her gratitude that the show is addresing those issues, and for opening up theissues to a wider audience, due to the shows broad audience reach.
“I’m thankful to Batang Quiapo because they’re opening this up on national television for a wider audience,” Brillantes stated. “Because ‘Batang Quiapo,’ it seems like all ages watch it, from the elderly to the youngest. Hopefully, Batang Quiapo can bring this awareness, politically and everything, to our audience.”
She further elaborated on the importance of political awareness for her generation. “Speaking for my generation, I think it’s very important that our generation, as Gen Z and Gen Z Alphas, are politically aware of what is happening in our country because this is our future,” she asserted. “And we should be able to decide for our future. We need to be aware of what is happening. I just think it’s really important.”
