BATAC CITY, Ilocos Norte – A 45-year-old man was arrested late Tuesday night after allegedly assaulting another individual and being found in possession of suspected illegal drugs and other items.
According to the Batac City Police Station, the incident occurred at around 11:15 PM on 18 February 2025, in Barangay 16 Quiling Sur, Batac City. The suspect, identified as Randy Giron y Aurelio, an employee of Venvi Company and a resident of Barangay 21 Quiom, Batac City, allegedly punched the victim, Jonathan Publico y Policarpio, 46, of Barangay 17 Tabug, Batac City.
Following the altercation, Giron fled to Barangay 6 San Julian, where responding officers, led by Police Lt. Col. Adrian Gayuchan, apprehended him. A subsequent body search led to the confiscation of suspected illegal drugs, cash, identification cards, and other personal items.
Giron is now in police custody and faces charges related to physical injury and violation of drug laws.
