Speaking at the Kapihan sa DHSUD: Housing Matters on Tuesday, Palayan City Viandrei Nicole Cuevas and beneficiaries of the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) program thanked President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) for the implementation of the Palayan City Township Project in Barangay Atate, Nueva Ecija.
The 23-hectare development will feature 22 buildings and approximately 6,300 housing units. The local government has begun distributing units in the condominium-style complex, with 1,076 set for turnover in March and another 1,076 scheduled for July.
“One of the biggest factors that made our township project successful was… how affordable it was. We couldn't have done this without our partnership with the national government and the subsidy we were able to get through DHSUD," Cuevas said in a mix of English and Filipino.
She highlighted the township’s fully developed infrastructure, including roads, electricity, and water systems, all made possible through collaboration with the national government. The project is open not only to Palayan City residents but to any interested Filipinos.
Beneficiary Moises Jerickson Alejo shared how the program helped him achieve his lifelong dream of homeownership.
"When I was a child, our home was just a kubo. As I grew up, my parents worked hard to build our house out of concrete so we'd have somewhere comfortable to live. That's why it's been one of my dreams to have my own home. I'm so thankful for this program, because we've been given homes. And, not just any homes, but condominium units with amenities, too," he said.
DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar commended the Palayan City government for its role in making the project a reality.
“This is a testament to the strong commitment of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to ensure that all Filipinos will have access to their own safe, decent and affordable homes. Salamat sa Palayan City LGU for making this vision a reality,” Secretary Acuzar said.
In December, President Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos led the ceremonial awarding of housing units under the 4PH program in Palayan City.
