Manchester band Oasis is back on the ballot for the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2025, one of 14 acts being considered for induction.

This marks the second time the band has been nominated, having first appeared on the ballot just a year prior, in 2024.

While fans are eager to see Oasis join the ranks of music legends, the band’s lead singer, Liam Gallagher, has made his stance on the Hall of Fame clear.

In a 13 February post on X, Gallagher, who has nearly 4 million followers on the platform, responded to an Oasis fan account that had voted for the Brit-rock band by saying, "The RNR hall of fame is for WANKERS."

This isn’t the first time the singer-songwriter has criticized the Rock Hall.

When Oasis was first nominated last year, Gallagher dismissed the institution, questioning the types of artists included on the ballot. “As much as I love Mariah Carey and all that, I want to say: do me a favour and f* off,”** he said at the time.

Other notable nominees this year include pop icon Mariah Carey, synth-pop pioneers New Order, and 80s star Cyndi Lauper, among others.

Artists become eligible for nomination 25 years after the release of their first commercial recording.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame continues to be a subject of debate regarding what qualifies an artist for inclusion.
