Gal Gadot celebrates Walk of Fame star, protests erupt
"Superwoman" actress Gal Gadot celebrated the release of her latest film by unveiling her Hollywood Walk of Fame star on Tuesday morning (Wednesday, Philippine time).
The event, held in front of the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, was both a joyous milestone and a scene of controversy, as pro-Palestinian and pro-Israel protesters gathered outside the tented-off area.
Gadot, the first Israeli actress to receive a Walk of Fame star, has been an outspoken advocate for her home country, Israel, amid its conflict with Hamas.
“I'm just a girl from a town in Israel. I could never imagine such a moment. I never dreamt of becoming an actress, and I never knew that these things are possible,” she said.
Born in Israel, she served in the Israel Defense Forces and has been vocal about her support for her homeland, particularly following the 7 October Hamas-led attacks on Israel.
The ceremony comes just days before the nationwide release of Disney’s live-action “Snow White," featuring Gadot alongside Rachel Zegler as the main cast.
