
Brianna Bunagan, daughter of renowned Kapuso comedian Michael V., is proving that talent runs in the family. This multi-faceted artist, a graduate of Ateneo de Manila University with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, major in Theater Arts, is ready to make her mark in the entertainment scene. While her lineage might suggest a comedic path, Brianna is carving her own niche, showcasing her talents in both music and theater.
Brianna’s passion for performing blossomed at a young age.
“I was eight years old when High School Musical came out and I knew all the songs,” she shared. “We always watch Disney movies and my Dad gave me a compilation of Lea Salonga songs that I memorized. Yes, I think that started it all.”
This early exposure ignited a spark that has led her to pursue her dreams with dedication and passion.
Her musical journey began with the release of her first single, “Ayoko Na,” a song penned by her father, Michael V. The track was also featured in the soundtrack of the 2019 film Family History, further cementing her connection to the entertainment world. Brianna’s bright vocals and clear tone, coupled with her ability to play the guitar, ukulele, and piano, demonstrate her musical versatility.
While music is a significant part of her artistic expression, Brianna is also making waves in the theater world. A GMA Sparkle artist, she made her professional acting debut on television in Start Up PH. She has since appeared in other shows, including a recent stint in Pepito Manaloto: Blind Date.
Now, Brianna is poised to shine on stage, making her professional theater debut in the newest Filipino musical, Liwanag sa Dilim (Light in the Darkness). This highly anticipated production will open on 7 March at the RCBC Plaza in Makati City.
