Hino Motors Philippines (HMP) celebrated its 50th anniversary on 21 January, marking five decades of innovation, quality and commitment to the Philippine commercial vehicle industry. The event served as a testament to HMP’s growth and its continued role in providing reliable, high-quality vehicles for various industries across the country.

The anniversary festivities kicked off with an exclusive tour of HMP’s headquarters and assembly plant in Laguna.

Esteemed guests from the media, as well as key industry partners, were given a behind-the-scenes look at HMP’s world-class manufacturing facilities where trucks, buses, and Hino quality rear bodies are assembled.

The highlight of the morning was the roll-out of HMP’s 80,000th production unit, a momentous achievement underscoring HMP’s technical and manufacturing capabilities.

Additionally, the event featured a sneak peek of the new FG Bus Concept, further solidifying HMP’s legacy in bus-building and its commitment to providing mass transport solutions that prioritize comfort, safety and reliability.

Following the tour, the celebration continued with a grand evening event at OKADA Manila. This gathering brought together HMP executives, employees, dealer partners, media friends and distinguished guests to honor the company’s 50-year history.

Satoshi Ogiso, president and CEO of Hino Motors Ltd., Japan, attended the event and highlighted the significant role that HMP plays in public mobility and goods transport in the Philippines. “Whenever a Hino PUV transports commuters to places or when one of our trucks delivers an entrepreneur’s goods to his customers, our vehicles become the very same vessels that carry these people’s everyday mission, their goals and aspirations,” Ogiso said in his speech.

He further emphasized the importance of continuous improvement, noting that while change may sometimes be daunting, it should be embraced as an opportunity for breakthroughs.

The evening’s celebration also included a special tribute to HMP chairman Vicente Mills Jr. for his leadership in driving the company’s success.

“The success of Hino Motors Philippines would not be possible if not for his leadership,” Ogiso remarked, acknowledging Mills’ dedication and vision.

In another exciting announcement, popular chef, entrepreneur, and food content creator Ninong Ry was introduced as the new endorser for Hino Motors Philippines.

Ninong Ry, known for his creativity and business acumen, will now endorse the Hino 200 Series, a flagship vehicle designed for small to medium enterprises.
