A statue of the Virgin Mary emerged untouched after wildfires devastated Los Angeles, serving as a potent symbol of faith for the Halpin family, whose home was consumed by the flames.

According to a Fox News report, Peter Halpin shared how everything around the statue had been consumed by fire, yet both the Virgin Mary and a statue of Saint Joseph were left untouched.

"It was remarkable how everything had gotten fried, but the statue of The Virgin Mary and another statue of Saint Joseph were in perfect condition," Halpin said, describing the sight as a testament to faith.

He also explained that their home had always been dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the family, along with extended relatives, prayed together and sang a special song for the Blessed Virgin.

Though the Halpin family’s home of 37 years was reduced to rubble by the deadly Eaton fire, they found solace in their faith. Halpin admitted that they had "broken the law" by visiting the remains of their home last week, but in that moment, they found comfort and strength in prayer, which was later shared with the community through a now-viral video on Instagram.

The unexpected response from the community has been overwhelming for the family, who never intended for the video to go viral.

Halpin's wife, Jackie, expressed gratitude for their safety and said they plan to make a pilgrimage to the site to thank God for the years spent in their home. "We just want to pray and be grateful," she added.
