The Philippine National Police (PNP) has reaffirmed its commitment to evolving into a technology-driven, professional and apolitical police force dedicated to preserving peace, order and the Constitution as the nation ushers in 2025.
In a statement on Wednesday, PNP chief Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil stressed the PNP’s preparedness to meet the ever-changing needs of law enforcement in the modern age.
“Peace and order are the cornerstones of a thriving community. As we begin a new chapter, I assure every Filipino that the PNP remains unwavering in its commitment to protecting lives, securing properties, and upholding the rule of law,” Marbil said.
He also highlighted the police organization’s forward-thinking vision.
“We envision a modern police force for a modern Filipino society — responsive, professional, and aligned with the times,” Marbil said.
He also outlined the PNP’s focus on technology-driven policing, highlighting initiatives including the deployment of body-worn cameras, real-time crime mapping, and strengthened cybercrime prevention units.
“In today’s interconnected world, technology is not just a tool — it is an indispensable partner in law enforcement. From advanced analytics in crime prevention to artificial intelligence in tracking criminal activities, the PNP is committed to employing innovative solutions to ensure public safety,” he said.
Marbil reiterated the PNP’s commitment to impartiality and dedication to maintaining the police’s image as a professional institution “that is devoted to serving the people.”
“The PNP stands as a pillar of democracy, adhering to the principles of justice, impartiality and service above self. We are a police force that prioritizes the welfare of the people, untainted by political affiliations or influences,” he said.
Meanwhile, Marbil called for stronger collaboration between the police force and communities.
He then emphasized the support of the public is vital to effective policing.
