Authorities reported on Monday that a Chinese individual and his live-in partner were arrested after a successful anti-drug operation conducted by members of the Navotas City Police.
Northern Police District Public Information Officer PLt. Gladys Co said the operation was conducted along Road 10 in Barangay NBBN.
The suspected shabu confiscated from the live-in partner reached 2.2 kilograms, which has a street value of at least P15.1 million. It was placed in tape-sealed zip-lock plastic and transparent bags.
Police identified the arrested individuals as alias “William” and alias “Rose,” both residents of Subic, Zambales.
Initial reports disclosed that a confidential informant shared information with members of the Navotas City Police, which led to the buy-bust operation. Initially, the arrested individuals sold shabu worth P120,000 to the police poseur-buyer.
The live-in partners are currently in the custody of the Navotas City Police Station and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco was also on the scene after the successful police operation.
In his weekly situation report, Tiangco urged Navotas City residents to report any suspicious drug-related activities within the city.
“If you see anything suspicious or have knowledge of individuals selling or using drugs in your area, please report it or simply send a text so they can be apprehended,” the city mayor said.
