The Taguig City Police have filed criminal complaints against a 44-year-old man arrested in a buy-bust operation that netted over 31 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Police Chief Col. Joey T. Goforth ordered the filing of charges against the suspect, identified only as “John,” a technician, for violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The arrest occurred at approximately 11:55 p.m. last Sunday in Barangay New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City, along Previda Street, according to a police report. The operation was conducted by the Taguig City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU).
During the buy-bust, operatives seized two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu. The seized substance weighed 31.6 grams and has an estimated street value of P214,880.
“This successful operation underscores our ongoing commitment to eradicating illegal drugs from our community,” Goforth said in a statement. “We will continue to pursue those involved in the drug trade and hold them accountable for their actions.”
Meantime, Southern Police District director Police Brigadier General Manuel J. Abrugena, commended the operatives for their vigilance and strategic execution of the operation.
