The Bureau of Customs-Port of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BoC-NAIA) — in cooperation with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG) — intercepted parcels containing high-grade marijuana and ecstasy tablets last 5 December 2024.

The parcels were shipped from different countries and addressed to various recipients in the Philippines.

During a routine inspection at the Central Mail Exchange Center in the NAIA Complex, customs officers flagged the suspicious packages.

Upon examination, they discovered a total of 7,791 grams of high-grade marijuana and 1,229 ecstasy tablets.

The intercepted illegal drugs were immediately turned over to the PDEA for further investigation and legal proceedings.

In a statement, the agency stressed that it is committed to strengthening border security and preventing the smuggling of illegal drugs.

Meantime, the Port of NAIA reiterated its commitment to upholding the integrity of the country’s borders and protecting the public from illegal drugs.
