Landscaper shot dead in Bukidnon

MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon — Unidentified men riding in tandem shot and killed a landscaper who was visiting possible site development in barangay Magsaysay, this city Friday afternoon.
Police identified the victim as Gerry Pandero, 45 a resident of Barangay San Jose, Malaybalay City.
Investigation showed that the victim received a call from an unknown person offering him to landscape a possible site for a proposed mountain resort in Barangay Magsaysay. The victim with a companion went to the proposed site on board a motorcycle located in a remote area in the said barangay.
However, upon reaching an intersection two suspects riding in tandem blocked their path and the back rider pulled out a pistol and shot the victim who was driving the motorcycle.
The victim sustained several bullet wounds in the head and died on the spot. The suspects then fled to an unknown direction.
The companion was unhurt in the attack.
Police ruled out robbery as the motive because the money and valuables of the victim were intact.
According to friends and family members the victim has no known enemies except that he has been separated from his wife and has received death threats a long time ago.
Investigators are looking to possible crime of passion as the motive of the killing because the victim was the only target and the suspect made sure that the victim was dead by shooting the head several times.
