It is still a month to go before the end of 2024 but Andrea Brillantes is counting her blessings this early, thankful for the two successful youth mystery series she starred in this year.
“Super drama po kasi ng Senior High and High Street pero mayroon na ako mga projects na paghahandaan ko di ko pa siya puwede i-disclose. Hindi ako mawawala marami pa kayo aabangan from me. Pero sa ngayon let’s end the year, magsaya tayo lahat (There are projects lined up for next year but I still can’t share it for now. As for now, let’s end the year being happy),” Andrea said at the opening of LVNA Jewelry Store in Clark, Pampanga.
Andrea also revealed her holiday plans, a bucket list she truly wants to achieve with her loved ones.
“Christmas I’m always with my family. Ayoko ma-jinx pero I will be in New York with one of my loved ones. So ayun, mayroon akong trip. Ayoko lang siya mabati. Makikita niyo naman ‘yun sa posts ko (The details of the New York Christmas trip I’ll update you guys on social media),” she added.
There are many career highlights for 2024, but Andrea considers their show, Senior High, getting a sequel (High Street) as a major one.
“Maraming nangyari this year pero for me it’s a milestone na mabigyan ng Season Two ang show namin na Senior High. Hindi ‘yun madalas na nangyayari for me na kapag humingi ng sequel ang mga tao. It really means a lot at kumapit sila doon sa Part One (The fans requesting for our show to have a sequel is a milestone for me),” she added.
Now endorsing LVNA Jewelries, the Kapamilya star revealed the early beginnings of her love affair with diamonds.
“Lola ko ang nagsabi sa akin na mag invest sa jewelry. Noong nag-start pa lang ako mag-artista, ‘di ko pa afford ‘yun pero nang magkaroon na ako ng pambili nag-start na ako mag-collect pa unti-unti (It’s my grandmother who encouraged me to invest in jewelry),” she said.
Brillantes made her television debut in the children’s comedy show Goin’ Bulilit. She then appeared in ABS-CBN’s drama series Alyna (2010) as Sofia Alvaro, the lost daughter of Shaina Magdayao’s character. In 2012, Brillantes played Princess, a tomboyish girl who believes in fairy tales, in E-Boy. The actress also made guest appearances in Wansapanataym and various TV5 shows. Her breakout role came in 2013 when she became the lead in the family drama series Annaliza, originally portrayed by Julie Vega. The show aired from 27 May 2013 to 21 March 2014.
Brillantes then starred in Hawak Kamay (2014) as Lorry Magpantay-Agustin and Pangako Sa ‘Yo (2015) as Lia Buenavista. In 2018, she played her first antagonist role as Marga in Kadenang Ginto, becoming a household name. The show’s massive success led to the formation of the Gold Squad, consisting of Brillantes, Seth Fedelin, Francine Diaz and Kyle Echarri.
