BAGUIO CITY — Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire that turned the public market of San Fernando City, La Union into ash in the early morning of 11 January 2024.
Initial reports disclosed that the fire started at past 1 a.m. and personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection San Fernando City declared fire-out at 6:52 a.m. Thursday.
The amount of damages has yet to be determined as investigation and assessment in the area is ongoing.
According to the local government of San Fernando City, it is now coordinating with concerned agencies in giving additional assistance to the owners of the stalls razed by the fire even as financial assistances are being prepared.
