Lanao Norte caps National Cooperative Month celebration

LANAO DEL NORTE — The provincial government, in partnership with the Provincial Cooperative Development Council and the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region 10, capped the month-long celebration of National Cooperative Month with a culmination program at the MCC Gymnasium on Tuesday.
Hundreds of cooperative leaders, members, government officials and development partners from across the province attended the event, which carried the theme “Matibay na Kooperatiba: Nagkakaisang Pamayanan para sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran” (Strong Cooperatives: United Communities for Peace and Development).
The program opened with participants reciting the Cooperative Pledge. Provincial Administrator Lyndon G. Calica delivered the welcome message, reaffirming the provincial government’s support for the sector.
Governor Mohamad Khalid Q. Dimaporo delivered the inspirational message, highlighting the role of cooperatives in poverty alleviation and inclusive growth. Reps. Imelda Quibranza Dimaporo of the first district and Sittie Aminah D. Dimaporo of the second district also expressed support for the cooperative sector.
“Cooperatives bridge differences — across faiths, across municipalities, across backgrounds,” Dimaporo said. He added that strong cooperatives help build stronger communities, paving the way for peace and development.
CDA Region 10 director Aminoden A. Elias highlighted the agency’s programs and policy directions, describing cooperatives as an important vehicle for grassroots economic empowerment.
