CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Three members of a family were killed and two others injured in a hit-and-run road accident along St. John Street in Barangay Puntod on Sunday evening, local police reported.

Investigating officers said the collision occurred at approximately 7:55 p.m. on 11 October when a cargo truck struck the victims. Authorities identified the deceased as Amalia Baspin and her two sons, Marlon Baspin and Marjohn Baspin.

Two other individuals sustained injuries during the crash and remain hospitalized for medical treatment.

Police identified the fleeing truck driver as Roldan Adlawon, a resident of Davao City. Investigators reported that Adlawon and his assistant abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene immediately after the collision.

Law enforcement agencies have launched a tracking operation to locate both suspects.

Surviving relatives, led by Amalia’s son Marvin Baspin, appealed to law enforcement for immediate action to apprehend those responsible as they manage arrangements to transport the victims’ remains home to Valencia City, Bukidnon, for burial.

“We are still in shock and struggling to arrange everything,” Marvin Baspin said in a radio interview. “We appeal to authorities to find Roldan Adlawon and his assistant and give our family the justice we deserve.”

Municipal police urged anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Adlawon or his assistant to contact local authorities immediately.
