From her remarkable rise as a child singing sensation to her experiences as a young woman discovering love, Lyca Gairanod opened up about her personal life, career milestones, and unforgettable journey in the entertainment industry during her appearance on GMA Network’s Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.

The former The Voice Kids Philippines grand champion delighted viewers with her spontaneous personality and amusing revelations, particularly her admission that she can be an overly jealous girlfriend.

During the interview, veteran television host Boy Abunda asked Lyca whether she was currently in a relationship and whether the man she was dating was her first boyfriend.

“First boyfriend?” Boy asked.

“Yes,” Lyca replied.

When the conversation turned to jealousy, the singer readily acknowledged that she sometimes becomes excessively emotional when it comes to her relationship.

“Oh, yes! I’m extremely dramatic. I really get ridiculously jealous,” she confessed.

Lyca went on to share some of the unusual things she does whenever jealousy gets the better of her.

According to the singer, she sometimes goes through her boyfriend’s old social media conversations, including messages exchanged with other women years before they became romantically involved.

“Sometimes, I read his old conversations with other girls and ask him, ‘Why did you say I love you here?’” she revealed.

What made her confession even more entertaining was her admission that she occasionally brings up these old messages simply because she feels like starting an argument. She also admitted that she sometimes pretends to cry during these disagreements to make the situation even more dramatic.

Her amusing revelations offered a glimpse of a different side of the singer, who first became known to the public as a shy young girl with an extraordinary singing voice.

Beyond the playful discussion about romance, the interview also gave Lyca an opportunity to reflect on the experiences that transformed her life.

Boy presented several video clips from her childhood, including performances that reminded viewers of her remarkable talent at an early age.

Watching herself on screen brought back memories that made the singer both nostalgic and slightly embarrassed.

“Whenever I watch those videos, I find myself thinking, ‘Did I really do that? Oh my goodness, I actually did that!’ When you’re young, you tend to forget many things because so much is happening around you. When those memories come back, I sometimes feel embarrassed watching my younger self, Tito Boy,” she admitted.

Lyca first captured national attention in 2014 when she emerged as the grand champion of the inaugural season of The Voice Kids Philippines.

Her powerful vocals, heartfelt performances, and inspiring personal story endeared her to millions of Filipinos.

Coming from humble beginnings, Lyca became a symbol of hope for aspiring young performers who dreamed of changing their families’ lives through their talents.

Her victory opened doors to recording opportunities, television appearances, and performances that established her place in the Philippine entertainment industry.

Among the songs closely associated with her breakthrough was “Puwede Nang Mangarap,” an inspirational composition written by acclaimed songwriter Jungee Marcelo.

During the interview, Boy asked Lyca about recording the song and what it meant to her at that stage of her career.

The singer recalled how excited she was when the composition was first presented to her.

“When I was recording ‘Puwede Nang Mangarap,’ and when the song was first given to me, I thought it was very inspiring. I was really happy about it,” she shared.

However, Lyca admitted that her young age prevented her from fully appreciating the deeper message behind the lyrics.

“Of course, I was still a child back then. I just thought it was such a happy song. I would dance along to it and enjoy the music. I didn’t really understand what the song was trying to say,” she explained.

The cheerful recording gradually became a meaningful reminder of how dramatically her circumstances had changed.

For Lyca, “Puwede Nang Mangarap” represented more than an early musical achievement. It captured the hopes of a child who once imagined a better future for herself and her loved ones.
