Two suspects nabbed in alleged P664K jewelry theft in Quezon City

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported Sunday the arrest of two suspects for the alleged theft of jewelry worth P664,000, following a recent swift and continuous follow-up operation by Batasan Police Station.
Operatives identified the suspects as alias “Vin,” a 41-year-old driver, and alias “Jo,” 24-year-old helper, both residents of Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City.
Police report said that the 33-year-old victim booked a transportation service through the Transportify application on Friday [2 October] to facilitate the transfer of her household belongings to a new residence.
The victim on Saturday discovered that her jewelry box was missing and upon reviewing the CCTV footage from her previous residence, she allegedly saw the transport helper taking the jewelry box from the dining room table.
The victim reached the Batasan Police Station, prompting police personnel to conduct a continuous follow-up operation that led to the apprehension of the suspects and recovery of the missing jewelry at around 9 a.m. on Saturday in Barangay Matandang Balara, Quezon City.
Items recovered include various pairs of earrings, bracelets, rings, necklace and white gold ring with a princess-cut diamond valued at P310,000.
Other recovered items from the theft suspects are a half-eternity wedding ring valued at P120,000 and among others, with a total estimated value of P664,000.
The QCPD reported that a complaint for Violation of Article 308 of the Revised Penal Code (Theft) was filed to the two suspects before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
