2 wanted passengers intercepted at NAIA

Police arrested two wanted Filipino passengers in separate law enforcement operations at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez announced.
The arrests were executed at NAIA Terminal 3 last 27 September following coordinated operations between airport authorities, local police units, and immigration officers implementing court-issued warrants.
In the first operation, police apprehended a 32-year-old male passenger arriving from Singapore. Officers from the PNP Aviation Security Group and regional intelligence units intercepted the suspect after verifying his travel itinerary with airline representatives.
The suspect was wanted under a non-bailable arrest warrant for syndicated estafa issued 10 September by Branch 57 of the Angeles City Regional Trial Court in Pampanga.
Officers documented the arrest using alternative recording devices before taking him into custody for processing.
In a separate action the same day, immigration officers intercepted a 41-year-old female passenger preparing to board a flight to Dubai.
A routine system check flagged an outstanding alias warrant issued 17 May 2016 involving two counts of illegal recruitment and two counts of estafa.
Immigration officials turned the suspect over to NAIA Police Station 3 and the Manila Police District. Court documents set her recommended bail at P86,000.
Nartatez highlighted the necessity of inter-agency intelligence sharing when serving warrants at major transit hubs.
“In operations like this, it is crucial that we have complete information before taking action,” Nartatez said. “We coordinate, verify, and ensure that the warrant is properly implemented while respecting the rights of the accused. That is proper police work — orderly process and clear accountability.”
Both suspects remain in police custody pending court proceedings.
